Site Inspection activities for all disciplines such as civil, mechanical, electrical and corrosion. Surveillance of works and assessment of assembly, according to ITP-Site ot ITPL.
Documental QA & Commissioning
GIS takes part as an independent Inspection Body, classified as 1st class by ISO 17020 Standards, meaning it acts as an independent part (Third Party Inspections). This type of service is provided for an EPC or Final client, public or private organizations, nationals as well as internationals.
Testing
Superficial NDT: VT – PT – MT
GIS has a team of certified level 2 & 3 inspectors as per ISO and ASNT (ACCP / SNT-TC-1A) standards. Use of calibrated devices as per ASTM or ISO, and certified consumables.
PT / Penetrand Dye Testing:
- Red Visible Water Removible Dye Penetran examination
- Red Visible Disolvent Removible DyePenetran examination
- Fluorescent UV Dye Penetran examination
MT / Magnetic Particle Examination:
- Liquid Black Visible Magnetic Particle Examination with yoke
- Solid Red Visible Magnetic Particle Examination with yoke
- Liquid Fluorescent UV Magnetic Particle Examination with yoke
Testing of welding, forging and casting, amonth other mills; i.e.: steel plates, valve body/bonet, bars (shafts or forged valves), pump casings and impellers, etc. We perform Ad-Hoc procedures for our clients.
Volumetric NDT: UT – ET (RT)
GIS comprises certified level 2 & 3 inspectors as per ISO and ASNT standards.
Using calibrated devices as per ASTM or ISO, and certified consumables, we provide:
- Radiographic Examination (Gammagraphy or portable X-Ray, depends on the región, trhough homologated partners)
- Conventional UT (flaw detection E-R / Angular, thickness measurement)
- Phasy Array AUT
- Manual Eddy Current

Assessment
Root Cause Analisys
GGIS investigates the failures of mechanical or mechanical systems, rotatory equipment, engines, electrical machinerty, among others. Frecuent requests are involved with:
- Fracture Mechanics: failure of welds (cracking) during service
- Rotatory Equipment: failure of gears, saft/cranksaft or bearings.
- Electrical Machines: insulation failure, harmonic distortion, among others
- Amont others: electrical systems failures, mechanical resonance (vibrations) ..
We have participated in works for the following equipment: Steam Turbines, DCS systems, Transformers, Welded Machinery, Water Turbines, etc.
Supplier Evaluation
GIS provides Vendor Assessment Evaluation, usually required for new suppliers who must commit with the requirements of the purchaser. Usual services requested are:

Certification
CE Mark. Pressure Equip. (PED 2014/68/EU)
The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) is a European regulation that applies to certain pressure equipment and accessories sold in most parts of Europe.
GIS offers certification services as Notified Body num. 2744 for CE marking. We can help you gain access into European market by ensuring your product meets all CE marking requirement. We offer several types of assessment:
- Approval of procedures and personnel undertaking permanent joining.

- Internal production control plus supervised pressure equipment checks at random intervals.

WPS & Welders
GIS develops pWPS and perform all complete WPS-PQR-WPQ homologation for the main standards:
- ASME
- ISO

- AWS
This service is oriented to manufacturing welding shops, but also for Contractors who wish to validate their providers.
Distributed Control System (DCS)
GIS has an specific department engage with DCS / SCADA systems verification.
We can perform the following services in this matter:
- DCS certification
- DCS Due Diligences
- Consulting (specifications, implementation, integration)
This service is performed by a 3-4 experts team during one or References weeks, depending on the scope and size of DCS.
We check 100% digital I/O, 100% anagogic I/O, alarms-locks, and complex sequences.
Material Certification
GIS provides with EN 10204 3.2 certification by metallurgical surveyors according ASTM or ISO/EN for different mills. Among others:
- Castings
- Forgings
- Bulks
Whether at mills or at manufacturer shops, 3.2 certification is performed by witnessing the extraction of samples and their testing, carried out by auditing laboratories or using our own accredited one.
GIS provides his certification under the scope of ISO 17020.
